Station 53

The station is strategically located in that it protects the small city of Gold Bar which is the highest populated area of the District. This closeness to the populated area also allows the majority of the volunteers quick response to the fire station for response. Recent improvements installed a new roof in 2006. Interior repainting will be done in 2007 and exterior painting is planned for 2008.

Station 53 Located at 501 Lewis Ave.

This fire station was constructed for the City of Gold Bar in 1980 utilizing a HUD grant. The interior was not completed until 1992.

The facility houses four apparatus bays, administrative offices, and a large training room capable of holding 100 people.

The station houses two type 1 engines, one type 6 engine,a medium rescue unit, and one Intermediate Life Support medical unit.

The station has 10 individual sleeping rooms, a study library, a training room that will hold 50 personnel, a day room and kitchen. The apparatus bays are separated from the living quarters where it has three bays, two of the bays are two apparatus deep and utilize a drive through concept. The apparatus bays also house an office, a tool room and a decontamination room with laundry facilities. The station sits on a 2.5 acre lot with a paved helipad often used to air evac injured people from the entire valley. The training room doubles as a field operations center and has on site emergency back up power for the facility. Heating and cooking utilize Propane coupled with the back up power the facility is completely self sustainable in the event of a disaster. There is currently one container that has been placed and utilized as an on site training prop. This station houses One Type 1 Engine, one Type 2 Water Tender (tanker), one Type 6 Wildland Brush unit, one Mobile SCBA Air Trailer, one 20 ft Rehab/State Mobilization Trailer, One Technical Rescue Unit, two Advanced life support medical units and one Intermediate life support medical unit.

Station 54 Located at 42013 S.R. # 2

This fire station was constructed in 2005 utilizing bond issue funds approved by the voters of the District.

The fire station was constructed with 24 hour facilities used to house fire and EMS providers. Although the Fire District remains all volunteer by utilizing a partial pay for day time hours and live in resident volunteer firefighters at night this station is staffed around the clock.
