Prepare for Wildfire

Located at the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range, District #26 is one of the more forested Fire Districts in Snohomish County. As a result, the District also has (3) Wildland Firefighting Brush trucks and all of its firefighter qualified members trained in fighting wildfires.  Last year, our crews were sent as part of the Snohomish County Strike Team to several statewide fire mobilizations including the Okanagan complex of fires, which turned out to be the largest wildfire in WA state recorded history.  While assigned to the Okanagan Complex, our firefighters worked long hours as part of the Structure Protection group, stopping the fire from consuming of dozens of homes, holding fire lines and mopping up hotspots.

Forecasters are predicting a risk of normal fire danger in our area. We encourage all our citizens to ensure they have “Defensible Space” around their homes by clearing all brush, firewood and flammable materials 30’ away  from the perimeter. More information on protecting your home from wildfire can be found at .

If you would like a wildfire risk assessment of your home, our crews would be happy to come assess your house and give some prevention tips for your property free of charge. Help make our area safer by partnering with us in preventing wildfires from endangering our community!
